Above is Sally's notes to me for Jill, I since the day I saw this mare loved her. Sally has started a young family and that's why Jill has come to us to move a little of her fat paddock condition and Sal knows I will only allow her to be placed in the best of homes only. Stunning is my one word for her followed by many others as she ticks ALL the boxes for me.
Lovely to handle in any way, in a group on a trail ride she will not care been at the back or the front, not care if a horse comes from behind nor will she care if she has to leave the group. The is a photo done in sepia in the photos she is in this group with a friend of mine Barb riding her, she has only been ridding a couple of years and has taken to her. On this day my son rode her also 27th Jan 2011. They both loved her. If Feenix never had Boots or I had another rider this mare would be staying at Carrowbrook. Even for myself I'd buy her only when buying for me I only get the learner cheapies grrrr.
You need hey to catch her and a firm voice when you are nearly to her in the paddock, if you miss her the first time she will lap the paddock. She is fine for me to catch but others I have said grab 'Jill' have ended like this.
Float alone, together, servo stops, off the tail gate when you get there 100% sound.
Never been lame even in this hard ground time.
Good to clip, bugger to do teeth and worm, but I have done both on her she is doable.
Extensions and transitions are perfect, head carriage will show or lope if riders aids are good she is good, she lunges perfect no fuss, no work down time needed when fresh although her paces do become slower and more relaxed when ridden 10mins or so.
Stunning tail and maine, great to boot back legs and clip and perfect to shoe.
This mare to look at as my dad Ken says (at 85) "jesus christ she is a bloody good sort Tracey, pity ya couldn't keep her"!!
Aww she is a doll, a ladies lady! My 10yr old rides her well and is a good rider for his age I would suggest 14yrs onward to compete due to her size and sheer strength, she is a powerful big strong girl. Her paces need asked once and she is forward, I have had spurs on her but she responds of the leg lovely without them. Will gallop than walk on loose rein with ease. Mouth soft and turns are smart.
Draft her than fly across to the rings and win the champion-Go on have some fun with her and leave 2nd place to the others. Ill prove you right youll email me back and say oh Tracey she is perfect-that Id put my money on!!!!
Update: 23/2/2011
Well it's really hard now to part with this mare. I have had Jill over 1 month now. From paddock condition (as seen in HD ad) till the show pics on here was only 1 month of work with Jill. She is flawless in so many ways. But first I'll tell you the few flaws I have found.
This mare is one of the most loyal and stunning animals I have ever had on my place, she is priced firm and I will be very careful where she goes as I see her as one of my own and will be one of those owners who calls on Sunday night to get the ribbon run down. Oh she also respects you and your space on the ground, never take the food from your hand, never tread on reins and push past you, halter trained and lovely in Led classes, eats well and a stunning doer-hence photos.
Please come and see for yourself if there is something we missed in the photos, I hope you can see how kind her eye is in pics, she is a princess.
