For Sale

Robbie - SOLD
mare
chestnut
10yrs
14.3hh
Teeth 10/8/10

Robbie is owned by a friend of mine who is 1 step up from a learner rider ie; been in the saddle only 2yrs. Robbie is her 3rd horse and although she is her best match, she has had a ride on a couple of QH's and has decided that the easy slow canter of this breed would be more relaxing for her and I agree.

Robbie for me to ride is great but she is quite quick in her reactions and forward, Barb (her owner) has mustered week in and week out on her and they have never had any issues but Barb is exhausted after a days work lol. She would rather a slower Sunday type ride, this is the only excuse for parting with Robbie and it will be a sad sale even for the non riding husband who loves her over the fence.

This mare has done it all, actually she taught Barb how to open gates not the other way around. She self loads on the float and to rug and handle is a breeze. She has been rugged all winter and her coat is lovely. She is on grass only and has been all winter and yes she is still on the fat side I know.

Her feet are great and never been shod as their hard and never had a crack. She is a perfect bush horse and after being left for weeks on end, Barb after only riding for 2 yrs can get straight on her, she has been in a yard on her own and never bothers about the horses over the fence.

Update:

14/2/2011

I have now spent extra time with this mare myself and have the following to add;

I have competed with her at gymkhanas and she went fantastic, she is no hack for the morning but does brilliant in the Stockman's challenge.

She was than ridden by Barb, her novice rider, and on the first day won 3 firsts, 2nds and 1 3rd out of 7 classes at Greata. The week after at Singleton gymkhana she won much the same. I played with her around the barrels before the sporting started and wow, she is one of the smartest horses Ive been in the seat of, you change your weight to the other side and she flying changes for you. She is like lightning, again way too smart for a learner, it put too much on the mares mouth when Barb is trying to find her balance. I'll guarantee this mare is smart and honest, marey at feed time with other horses grrr, but, to travel, shoe deal with 10/10.

Pics from sporting days and ribons etc added from Feb 2011 is her current condition!
